The Concept  Personally, when I go out I want to escape a little bit. Forget about the day job and just relax. But I also want to be entertained (I'm demanding like that) and sometimes music and a drink--or several--won't do it. Call me crazy, but I prefer to relax by staying active, which means doing something creative, playful or inspiring.  This got me thinking. How can I incorporate all these things into a party? After some time of pondering about, I started to jot down some ideas, which eventually became the blueprint to "Intelligent Entertainment". So what is Intelligent Entertainment?  I would like to describe it as a party/social gathering with a creative, intellectual twist. I want to make every event an adventure. Some events are based around a theme or a culture, others dedicated to a specific cause or idea. Guests will find themselves learning and experiencing something new at every event. I hope to help inspire conversations, connect strangers and create a whole lot of laughs.  The Story  I started my obsession with entertainment in 2002, when I began writing online reviews for underground cabaret shows. It was a good way for me to get some creative outlet after a not so creative day job. Curiosity led me from the stage to the New York City nightlife scene where I assisted various event organizers in my pastime. In 2003 I joined the Scandinavian social group InternationalSwede and became their main event organizer. Here I got some great experience planning anything from small dinners to grandiose parties. It was a hobby of course, but I grew to love it so much I decided to try to make more of it.  The following year I founded Nordic Muses, a non-profit organization focusing on showcasing female Scandinavian artists living in New York, and Euromantic, a dating event company for Europeans and Europhiles. Event by E was established in early 2006 to give me an outlet for creative ideas and worthy causes. I hope to bring some inspiration and laughs to New York this year and I hope you will join me at my next event.
